Not only do I need to worry about squeezing into an itty, bitty spot between two Geländewagens in the LAX parking garage... but now I have to make sure I'm not MURDERED by my parking anxiety?! Well, this extremely convincing ad below arrived in my inbox a few days ago and it sure brought this issue to my attention. I now know that the only sure things in life are taxes and not surviving airport parking.

I can only imagine a late night in the Mad Men style offices of Airport Parking Reservations. Two guys from marketing are trying to grind out some new ideas of how to impress the boss and increase reservations this quarter over a bottle of scotch.

Marketer 1: "Maybe we should just tell people off airport parking is cheaper and they can let the shuttle driver fight through the stressful city traffic."

Marketer 2: "I'm not sure saving money is really going to grab anyone's attention, but the stress thing sounds workable."

Marketer 1: "Hey I just saw on the CityParkist blog that some dude died of likely natural causes in the parking garage at O'Hare. Man, we really need to create a blog that ends in -ist... that's so cool."

Marketer 2: "Wait... he died at an airport parking lot? This could be exactly what we need! Here, hold my scotch."

Marketer 2: *typing*

Marketer 2: "What's another word for coffin that rhymes with 'late'?"

Marketer 1: "Crate?"

Marketer 2: *clicks "Send"*

And that's how an ad is born. Save $5 and also your life during your next trip by using this coupon.

Why anyone would park anywhere else other than the multi-story lot next to In-N-Out is a mystery to me. I mean, the shuttle takes you straight to In-N-Out!

I know! I love The Parking Spot- there's even a doorway cut into the wall labeled "In-N-Out Access ->"

There was a rash of home burglaries here. Guys were breaking into cars at the on airport, long term parking and just stealing the registration forms. Then breaking into their homes/apartments. Glad I only park in the private lots. They have people paying attention.

Man, I can't imagine just how terrible it would be to come back from a long trip, find your car broken into, and drive your broken-into car all the way back to find your broken-into house. Damn criminals.
